Math 3 Honors Project-Math Movies
DUE DATE is no later than March 6, 2017!
I would like you to make a movie about a mathematician. You can work in a group of up to 2 people (in Period 3), up to 3 people (in Period 1) to make a movie of 2-3 minutes length about any of the mathematicians listed below. It must have both audio and visual components. I suggest windows movie maker, flip-o-gram, and powtoons. .
Here are some suggestions for your movie.
Cedric Villani Girolamo Cardano Benjamin Moiseiwitsch
Marjorie Hamilton Emmy Noether Niels Bohr
John Nash Arybhata Olga Ladyshenskaya
Gottfried Leibniz & Isaac Newton Blaise Pascal Augusta Ada King (Countess Loveless)
Euler David Hilbert Georg Riemann
Gauss Mauritz Cantor Evariste Galois
Maryann Mirzakhani Katherine Okikolu Kurt Godel
Bonaventura Cavalieri Alan Turing The Fields Medal
Leonardo Bonacci Katherine Johnson
Find something interesting about your mathematician. Tell his/her tale and share what makes them so interesting. Include important contributions, what was going in the world at the time they were doing mathematics and how you believe it may have impacted their work. Consult with me as you go and I can help you to hone in on the content for your movie.
You are not limited to these movie subjects and can use other movie makers, however consult with me first and get approval.
My plan is to count this as both a test (for content) and a quiz grade (for presentation). Have fun!
